How to cancel Apple TV+

Apple TV+ is the easy case: it’s always billed by Apple, so the cancel button is always in the same place, on every device signed into your Apple account.

Cancelling Apple TV+

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions, then Apple TV+.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

You keep streaming until the end of the current billing period. The same screen works for every other Apple-billed subscription, which is why it’s worth knowing your way around it in general.

If you don’t see Apple TV+ in the list

You’re probably paying for it through Apple One, the bundle that wraps TV+, Music, iCloud+ and more into one charge. In that case TV+ has no separate line to cancel:

  • To drop the whole bundle, cancel Apple One in the same Subscriptions screen.
  • To keep some services, cancel Apple One and re-subscribe individually to the ones you want, or switch bundle tiers.

Before dropping Apple One entirely, check your iCloud storage: if the bundle was supplying your storage plan, cancelling can leave you over quota, and Apple will start nagging immediately.

Worth knowing

Apple TV+ is a strong candidate for the subscribe-binge-cancel cycle: cancel when the show you came for ends, re-subscribe when the next season lands. Nothing about your account is lost in between, and a renewal reminder makes the cycle deliberate instead of accidental.

Common questions

Can I cancel during the free trial and still watch to the end?

Yes. Cancelling a trial stops it converting but leaves access running until the trial's last day, so there is no reason to wait until the final morning.

What happens to my downloads?

Downloaded episodes stop playing when the subscription ends. Nothing is removed from your Apple account, and anything you bought outright rather than streamed is unaffected.

How do I cancel the free year that came with my device?

Device offers appear in Settings, your name, Subscriptions like any other line, usually with the end date shown. Cancel there and the free period still runs its course; it just stops converting to a paid plan.

Can I cancel from a Mac or the web?

Yes. On a Mac, open System Settings, your name, Media and Purchases, then Manage. In a browser, sign in at tv.apple.com and use the account menu. It is the same subscription either way.
